Bedroom in Arles (1888)
By Van Gogh

Throughout his career, Van Gogh painted everything around him, be it the landscapes, people he met in town or even his own shoes.

On October 16 1888, he wanted to write to his brother and tell him of his new bedroom, but as he put down the words, nothing made justice to its beautiful details. Instead and for the love of emphasizing feelings at work, Van Gogh decided to illustrate his room on a canvas and call the viewer’s imagination to rest in one of his most historic paintings.

In celebration of this art piece, Europe in Art brings it literally to life by physically simulating the portrait in an actual maquette. This life-size creation offers our visitors a new dimension to experience Van Gogh’s art and take home a memorable photo opportunity.
