Journey with Monet

“I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers.”

Claude Monet (1840 – 1926)

Recognized as a leading artist in French Impressionism, Monet’s paintings helped define the entire movement and inspired its name. He was famous for his serial paintings, where observations of the same object at different times of the day were captured in distinct sequences.

Beyond the literal view, Monet focused on reflecting the natural impression an artist can achieve while painting outdoors. His works celebrated the rural life and illustrated landscape scenes, bright bridges as well as people in their leisure time.
